North Scottsdale Peptide care, explained

A guide to care questions.

Start with the words

What does GLP-1 mean on a care page?

This term often appears beside weight or blood-sugar care. The full medicine name still matters.

The hormone term

GLP-1 is a hormone, a message made by the body. It affects blood sugar and appetite.

Semaglutide, sold as Ozempic and Wegovy, and tirzepatide, sold as Mounjaro and Zepbound, are examples of medicines that act like that message.

FDA is the short name for the US drug agency, the Food and Drug Administration. Those named medicines had US approval at the September 26, 2026 check.

Custom does not mean generic

An approved version that copies a brand medicine is called a generic. A compounded version is made to order and is not an approved generic.

On September 26, 2026, no approved generic of semaglutide or tirzepatide could be marketed in the US.

Why the shortage story matters

The FDA shortage list is a national record of supply problems. A local pharmacy being out of stock is a different thing.

As checked on September 26, 2026, semaglutide and tirzepatide injections were not on that shortage list.

Pharmacies could no longer rely on the national shortage to make copies. A pharmacist or doctor may still be able to make a changed version for one patient if the prescriber identifies a meaningful medical difference.

For example, a patient may need a dye-free medicine because of an allergy. Ask the prescriber which change is needed and which rule permits it.

A vitamin does not settle the copy question

FDA’s explanation checked on September 26, 2026 says adding a vitamin does not necessarily make a custom medicine different enough to avoid the limits on copying.

Essentially a copy means a product close enough to an available medicine to fall under the copying limits.

Ask what the change does for your particular medical need.
